It is awful to try to relax when you feel anxious, because not doing anything makes you worry about all the things that are not getting done. By doing things that meet your higher values, you will feel the feeling of fulfillment at the end of the day. It’s by having important things done in priority according to your own values and not the one imposed on you by others, that you will have peaceful ritual to calm down anxiety.
Your higher values can be, peace, security, stability, joy, etc. If you don’t know them, take a few moments per day to do an instropection and Google it to try exercices helping your to find your core values. To lower your anxiety don’t procrastinate. Instead, get thing done by small pieces. Cut your tasks in many, many little short cycles of time. Short cycles implies to be multitasked. Either you perform several different activities, or the same one but fragmented into several sequences. It can be a task that you achieve following to the Pomodoro technique: 25 minutes of concentration and 5 minutes of break and so on. Otherwise you can have a short walk, take a coffee, go to an exhibition, to a restaurant and intersperse a sport session.
